Peter Woit has made it clear that he has your IP address, and if anyone criticizes the upcoming Garrett Lisi movies, book deals, and action figures in an anonymous and/or unprofessional manner, Woit is not afraid to use your IP address.
Lee & Peter have demostrated the vast power of fanboy groupthink, and the next step is to translate the triumph in hype into $$$$$$$$$$$.

Surfer Dude's Theory of Everything - The Movie
Meanwhile, a representative of a Hollywood film production company has been in touch with the Telegraph saying that "I loved the article and think it has great potential for a feature film."
And at least one major agent is scrambling to sell publishers a book that will tell the story of Garrett Lisi and his struggles to comprehend the cosmos.
Peter Woit's comment section celebrates the vast and triumphant success for modern physics: http://www.math.columbia.edu/~woit/wordpress/?p=617#commentsAccording to a recent Telegraph article by Roger Highfield:

he has become something of a celebrity and he admitted yesterday that he was finding the attention overwhelming - indeed he has refused to appear on television.
Im currently spending the bulk of my time corresponding with physicists, which I consider to be of prime importance. .
Garretts preference for doing physics over TV etc seems to me to be a very responsible attitude,
and I hope that he is able to maintain it under the pressure of possibly exploitative offers from Hollywood, book agents, etc.

Lee & Peter may yet realize their dream of replacing String Theory with something Not Even Wronger, finally reaping millions upon millions of dollars for book deals, TV deals, movie deals, and Garrett Lisi action-figures with surfboards and snowboards on which he outruns Lubos Motl.
If only Lee Smolin had learned to surf and snowboard, imagine how successful Loop Quantum Gravity would have been.
Oh well--perhaps Lee Smolin can hop onto Kaku's/Thorne's time machine, travel on back, and learn to surf in Hawaii and Snowboard in Tahoe, as a poor, homeless surfer-dude. Perhaps John Baez can join Smolin, and visit Boltzman and read Baez's crackpot theory to him, laugh at him, and hop back on the Kaku/Thorne/Hawking express, just on time for the Garrett Lisi conference in Lake Tahoe or Hawaii.
One thing is for sure--from now on, all Seers must learn to surf and snowboard. The Perimeter Institute is installing a wave pool.
We knew it all along--more than physics, more than mathematics, more than science, Peter Woit and Lee Smolin have had String Theory/Brian Greene Envy. And Garrett Lisi is the pinnacle result of their books and blogs--an overhyped speculative theory they can call their own. And the greatest thing? They can blame Garrett on the String Theorists, as does a commentor on Woit's blog:
http://www.math.columbia.edu/~woit/wordpress/?p=617#commentsAccording to a friend at UCSD Garrett Lisi already has appeared on TV recently (dressed in once instance as a red indian). They obviously love the idea of him being the rebel who is rocking the foundations of physics.
Well - good luck to him.
But I wonder if the string theory community had not started the trend of trumpeting speculative non-results to the press, would they have taken an interest?
Congrats to Lee & Peter!!! Wahhooooo!!!
