For the interval from -π to π, solve cosx + sinx = 1

any help on this question especially a step by step procedure would be greatly appreciated

Have you tried ANYTHING yourself? I guarentee you, looking at a math problem and saying "I don't know how to do this" without TRYING something is a sure way to fail! You know that cos^2(x)+ sin^2(x)= 1. Can you use those two equations together? If cos(x)+ sin(x)= 1, what is (cos(x)+ sin(x))^2?
