Are Postulates Allowed Anywhere in the Multiverse?
- Dr. Ranger McCoy Says:
November 6th, 2005 at 9:09 am Are we allowed to discuss postulates anywhere in the multiverse?
Here’s a good analogy of “surfing a wave” that sheds light on Moving Dimensions Theory.
Surfing a Dimension: The Birth of Moving Dimesnions Theory
http://physicsmathforums.com/showthread.php?t=60
A few years back, while surfing a towering wave on the Outer Banks of North Carolina, a beautiful thought occurred to me. Suppose the wave I was riding represented a coordinate in a dimension. Then although I was approaching shore, I was not moving in this dimension. The dimension itself was moving–I was stationary with respect to this dimension, but moving relative to other dimensions. I was “surfing” a moving dimension.
The General Postulate of Moving Dimensions Theory: The fourth dimension is expanding relative to the three spatial dimensions.
The wave-particle duality of matter and equivalence of mass and energy are unified under the umbrella of this new framework.
And yes–you guessed it–QM and relativity derive from the same underlying postulate.
I do hope I am allowed to say this here. Thanks! Discuss!

Science needs postualtes, laws, and theories.
String theory is a non-theory because it doesn't postulate anything.
Here's what a postulate looks like: "The fourth dimension is expanding relative to the three spatial dimensions."
This concept unfies quantum mechanical phenomena with relativistic phenonema, in a far more elegant fashion than String Theory.
Moving Dimensions Theory will be a part of the renaissance that takes us beyond the pomo-hipsters' rule of terror.
In movies, literature, art, philosophy, poetry, and physics, the pomo-hipsters play their little deceitful games, giving one-another tenure for bs.
If you criticize their meaningless tax and tuition funded empire, they make it personal by saying, "you're stupid."
It's almost getting boring, but rock on dudes.

I place a postulate at a higer level than laws and theories. Therefore, I know only the singular.

I quite agree that ST has not got its act together; however, I feel "non-theory" is a bit strong. String theory is a concept looking for a postulate; and, it is unable to relate to Reality as it incorporates (attempts to unify) the contrived forces of Pomo theoretical physics.

This may be presented as a "postulate"; however, if one were to start at the origin of the spatial dimensions, with seminal motion, it would be seen that this postulate's impression is misleading, at best.
The internal geometry of radiant energy is never considered as the etiology of the dimensions.
Time is more closely related to the spatial dimensions than the "postulate" states. It is oscillating (simultaneously: slide, swing, and vibration) speed that is expanding (and contracting) hyper-relativisticaly . . . which accounts for the illusion of radiant energy's particle/wave duality.

This may well be so; however, there is little merit in unifing QM and SR/GR as all are basically flawed when extended beyond their "working" parameters.
A "new physics" is required before such unification is possible. As long as the Big Bang is the only structural force opposing the misunderstood phenomena (plural intended) of gravity, unification is not possible.

The Renaissance is gaining momemtum; "rule of terror" is almost an understatement.

Tragically, quite true.

An impressed mind is seldom open to logic or debate.
