computing for charitable causes

I have discovered a website that allows yo to download a program that does calculations to cure cancer, fight AIDS, etc. while you are not using it.

I created a team called xkcd, and think it would be great if all of us geeks would put our awesome computers on this.

Does anyone else do this or similar?
please ell me if you join my xkcd team, we have the potential to become one of the bes out there!

Mods--can this go to general to increase reads?
